Synopsis

Culinary Heritage of India” is an anthology documentary tracing the deep cultural roots of food across diverse regions. It begins at sea, with Kerala’s kambawala fishing and Odisha’s cross-cultural kitchens, where food sustains both body and belonging. In Mangalore and forested regions, ancient leaf-wrapped cooking preserves tradition and taste. The film then moves to Awadhi kitchens, where biryani stirs regional pride—from Andhra’s spice to Lucknow’s subtlety. Finally, it explores the millet revival, as grains like bajra and ragi return to modern diets, linking past and present. Each story reveals how food is memory, identity, and a shared heritage.
